Forest Management & Ecology, Bachelor of Science Degree

The Bachelor of Science in Forest Management and Ecology prepares students to manage our forest resources from a science-based perspective. Students incorporate the related disciplines of plant and wildlife ecology, hydrology and policy to solve current issues involved in the sustainable management of our natural resources.

If you are interested in:

·       Working outdoors and managing our native ecosystems

·       Solving problems pertaining to the ecology and management of forest resources, including climate change and invasive species

·       Maintaining wildlife habitat

·       Wildfire management

·       Planning for wood production, forage, water and other human needs

Careers (typically working for governmental agencies, forest product industry, consulting firms, or non-profit organizations):

·       Forester

·       Park ranger

·       Wildland fire manager

·       Restoration ecologist

·       Natural resource planner

Curriculum includes:

·       Two options: Forest Management or Forest Ecology

·       Forest Plants: ID, Ecology, Measurements, Genetics, Physiology

·       Wildlife Ecology and Management

·       Ecohydrology, Environmental Pollution, Soils

·       Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

·       Restoration Ecology, Conservation Biology
