Blomquist honored for research
Blomquist honored for research A professor who has been studying insects for 30 years at the University of Nevada, Reno is being honored by the Entomological Society of America. The society named Gary Blomquist the winner of its Recognition Award in Insect Physiology, Biochemistry and Toxicology. Blomquist has been the chairman the last seven years of UNR's Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Blomquist has served as the president of the International Society of Chemical Ecology and currently is on the editorial board of four journals.
Pedrett gets prestigious award
Larry Pedrett, a long- time Nevada member of the Committee on Agriculture Research, Extension and Teaching and a member of CABNR's Advisory Board, received the Society for Range Management-Nevada Section's "Range Manager of the Year" Award at the annual meetings on Jan 14 in Elko. He has managed several ranches and farms in Nevada, including the Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station farms.
