The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is a computer-adaptive test (CAT) which measures general verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills.
The GMAT is required of all applicants. This computer-based standardized test serves as a uniform standard of measurement for applicants. It is non-business specific and tests one's general verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills. The GMAT is given entirely in English, and all instructions are provided in English.
Please note that the GMAT is not used as the sole standard for admission. We encourage you to think of your application in its entirety. We look at the entire profile and evaluate all of an applicant's strengths when reviewing an application.
If attempting to meet a specific College of Business Administration application submission date, you should take the test no later than two weeks prior to that submission date. The official GMAT score must be forwarded to the Graduate School of the University of Nevada, Reno by the testing service. GMAT scores are valid for five years.
The GMAT web site provides information on how to register and prepare for the GMAT. You may want to check your local area for additional test preparation resources.
Should you decide to retake or are requested to retake the GMAT, please notify the MBA Office of your intended test date. Your highest test score will be considered by the MBA Admissions Committee.
