Teaching and research are inextricably linked... Undergraduate research is a vital component of higher education. It enriches undergraduate teaching and learning that begins in the classroom and extends into the research laboratory. The research experience provides students a firsthand encounter with the processes of scholarly exploration that characterize academic life.
Biology Undergraduate Research ( BUR ) is designed to involve undergraduates in the research life of the department by providing opportunities for students to work with faculty on their cutting edge research projects. Undergraduates conducting research have a chance to gain skills and experience that will be valuable in any career path, while experiencing what it means to be part of an intellectual community engaged in research.
