Scholarships for Graduate Students

The Wilson Award is for native-born US citizen graduate students with financial need. We have two awards to give each year. In the past the amounts have varied between $2000 and $4000 per award.

THE DISTINGUISHED TEACHING ASSISTANT AWARD:

The College of Arts and Sciences recognizes an outstanding graduate teaching assistant each year with this award. The nominee must have 2 or more semesters of teaching prior to nomination, 18 or more graduate credits, and a 3.5 GPA.

Undergraduates may nominate their TA for this award! Submit nominations to the TA Awards Committee, Graduate School, Mail Stop 326
Nominations due in Feb - look for posted flyers with details.
REWARD YOUR GOOD TA!

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

To apply for one of these Scholarships, submit an application form (obtained in the Biology Office) and two letters of support from Biology Faculty, after Feb 12. If you are doing research with non-Biology faculty, an additional letter from your research mentor is welcome. Applications and letters should be submitted to the Biology Department Office. The deadline date for the Department to submit nominees to the College varies from year to year, but is generally in mid March. Often the Department receives notification of the deadline just before that date. If a deadline for the current year is not indicated at the top of this page, just proceed to get your application materials in before March 15.
