Introduction

As a part of the accreditation process, the University of Nevada, Reno Assessment Office and Office of Enrollment Services conducted a survey of the student body regarding their university experiences. The Academic Experience Survey (AES) asked students to indicate how often they engage in activities that have been shown to be related to success at the university and provided a measure of academic and social involvement. By examining the amount and scope of the students' activities related to classes and other opportunities for learning and development, a clearer picture is gained of the demands the university places on students and the opportunities it offers them, as well as student responses to those demands and opportunities.
