Spatial Relativity – The Poetics of Mediated Space, 2011, F. Myles Sciotto
Spatial Relativity is a new evolution of Alternity,
an ongoing investigation into new architectural constructs and spatial
interfaces which translate realtime bio-Data into spatial experiences. Exploring the ability to inform our surroundings with
our presence within them. This new iteration experiments with the development of real-time |
EEG data translated into virtual
surfaces which generate and mutate enclosed spaces. The user is able to move through the space and explore multiple rooms
each with unique parameters and criteria ranging from color and density, to texture and surface articulation.
A spatial soundScape is also generated from the data and accompanies the journey. Narrating the visual with the aural. |
