I graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a degree in Anthropology and Photography. I received the General Undergraduate Research Award (GURA) as a student to conduct a rephotographic survey of the mining that took place in Plumas County during the 1800s.
The award allowed me to engage in research and development of a project. Furthermore, I got my hands dirty and applied research and what I had learned in photography classes to the field. I produced a body of twelve images.
Coupled together with the historic image, each photograph shows how landscape can change over time and what mining can do to the landscape. This project allowed my interest in rephotography to blossom and further developed my creativity and talents as a photographer.
