My photography is inspired by the progression of childhood to adulthood. I have a supreme interest in the connection between childhood experiences and their effects later in adulthood, both negative and positive. Through those experiences I create highly constructed digital portraits, including self-portraits, which also focus on psychology, fairy tales, literature and the world around me. I am also interested in the notion of self.

My recent bodies of work focus on two separate components of childhood; the ability of a child to create simplicity within their world, as well as the connection between traumatic childhood experiences as memory and dissociative amnesia within myself as a young adult. I believe for many people that this combination of light and dark elements in relation to childhood is much more common than we would like to believe.
