"Ebay: A to Z", Installation, 2001, purchased objects, rag paper, gold gesso, sumi ink,
digital inkjet prints

For approximately 5 weeks I tracked and purchased 26 items from the Ebay online auction
site - the first object starting with "A" and so on. Each item listing with image is printed on
a 58" long wedge of gold gessoed rag paper. Each piece of paper was then painted upon
using the artist's mouse equiped with a brush dipped in sumi ink to trace the progress of
each associated auction upon the paper surface. The result being a 26 piece fan shape
which will be mounted upon the wall, approx. 15 feet wide. A computer visualization of the
fan is documented above left. In front of the fan, each of the purchased objects will be
displayed, each on its' own individually crafted gold painted pedestal.
