Academic Interests: Historic archaeology, Industrial archaeology of mining and lumber towns, Oasis civilization and foodways of the American West.

Biography: Ian is a first year master’s student interested in historic and industrial archaeology. He has experience in cultural resource management and historic preservation in northern Nevada. His current research interests include historic foodways in the Comstock Mining District, using remote sensing to investigate historic sites, and industrial archaeology in the mining West.
