Desktop Icons

 

To download the University of Nevada, Reno Alumni Association icons please click one of the following links to download the zipped (.zip) file. Once downloaded, unzip the icon files (.ico or icns), then follow the directions listed below. The following icons are available in Windows and OS X formats.

To change a Windows shortcut icon:

  1. Right click the shortcut and choose properties.
  2. Click the "Change Icon..." button.
  3. Browse to the icon you want to use and click Ok.
  4. Click Ok again.

To restore a Windows shortcut icon:

  1. Right click the shortcut and choose properties.
  2. Click the "Change Icon..." button.
  3. Browse to the original icon that you used and click Ok.
  4. Click Ok again.

To change an OS X icon:

  1. In Finder: Select the icon you want to use.
  2. Choose File->Get Info
  3. Highlight the small icon at the top of the Get Info dialog.
  4. Choose Edit->Copy
  5. In Finder: Select the item whose icon you would like to change.
  6. Choose File->Get Info
  7. Highlight the small icon at the top of the Get Info dialog.
  8. Choose Edit->Paste

To restore an icon to its default in OS X:

  1. In Finder: Select the item whose icon you would like to restore.
  2. Choose File->Get Info
  3. Highlight the small icon at the top of the Get Info dialog.
  4. Choose Edit->Cut
