Chapter Raffle Information

For those of you who raise money by holding raffles... keep reading!

Anytime an organization sells tickets for a chance to win cash or prizes, it’s considered a lottery. In the State of Nevada, all lotteries must be registered with the State of Nevada Gaming Control Board (per NRS 462 and NRS 463). This includes all chapter raffles held in Nevada - from raffling shirts on rooter buses to raffling prizes at fundraising events.

These regulations do NOT affect those chapters based outside of Nevada (ie: Sacramento Chapter, Southern California Chapter, Washington D.C. Chapter).

To make the application process as easy as possible for you and your chapter, you will find a number of forms at the bottom of this page: (1) instructions on how to complete the Charitable Lotteries Application for Approval or Registration, (2) the Charitable Lotteries Application for Approval or Registration form itself and (3) a copy of the University’s Proof of Charitable Status. A copy of the Charitable Lotteries Application for Approval or Registration can also be found here.

Please note: Your application should reach the Nevada Gaming Control Board no later than 30 days prior to your lottery. In addition, please allow ample time to complete a check request if you are using funds from your chapter account to pay the $25 fee.
