The University of Nevada, Reno hosts a vibrant, global community of students, researchers and professors representing over 80 nations.

The key office for international students wanting to attend the University of Nevada, Reno is the Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS), which aims to promote mutual understanding between Nevadans and citizens of other nations

The staff at the OISS provides information and advice regarding visa categories, international student admission, employment options, and cultural adjustment. Programs, workshops, and activities are offered that foster intercultural understanding and enhance the skills needed to be successful in an increasingly interconnected world. OISS is located in the Fitzgerald Student Services Building, Room 120.

International Student Application Checklists

Conditional Admissions

Established in 1982, the Intensive English Language Center (IELC) teaches students the English skills needed to enroll in US colleges and universities and offers courses to students wishing to improve their general English skills. Conditional admission is offered to international undergraduate students who are academically qualified but cannot meet the English requirement for acceptance. Undergraduate students may enter Nevada universities after completing IELC program without having to take the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE.
