5,400: Facilities Planning and Space Management Policy

All university facilities are to be utilized in the best interests of the total University and not in the proprietary interest of a particular organizational unit. As such, all assigned space is subject to periodic evaluation based on the priorities of the total institution. The responsibility for this task rests with the Executive Vice President & Provost and the Vice President for Administration and Finance through the Senior Planner, Space Management. The maintenance of university facilities is the responsibility of the Vice President for Administration and Finance through the Senior Director, Facilities Maintenance Services.

The Facilities Resource Committee recommends policy and reports to the President through the Executive Vice President & Provost.

Members of the Facilities Resource Committee include:

  • Vice Provost, Faculty Affairs (committee chair)
  • Vice President for Research & Innovation, or designee
  • Chief Information Officer
  • Vice President for Administration and Finance, or designee
  • Vice President of Student Services, or designee
  • Associate Vice President for Facility Services
  • Faculty Senate chair-elect, or designee
  • Vice President for Health Sciences, or designee
  • Environmental Health and Safety representative
  • Senior Planner, Space Management
  • Director of Real Estate
  • Intercollegiate Athletics representative
