5,400: Facilities Planning and Space Management Policy

All university facilities are to be utilized in the best interests of the total University and not in the proprietary interest of a particular organizational unit. As such, all assigned space is subject to periodic evaluation based on the priorities of the total institution. The responsibility for this task rests with the executive vice president & provost and the vice president for Administration and Finance through the director of Facilities Planning and Analysis. The maintenance of university facilities is the responsibility of the vice president for Administration and Finance through the director of Facilities Management.

The Facilities Resource Committee recommends policy and reports to the president through the executive vice president & provost.

Members of the Facilities Resource Committee include:

  • Vice Provost (committee chair)
  • Vice President for Research
  • Vice President for Information Technology
  • Vice President for Administration and Finance
  • Vice President of Student Services, or designee
  • Assistant Vice President for Facility Services
  • Faculty Senate Vice Chair, or designee
  • Vice President for Health Sciences or designee
  • Environmental Health and Safety representative
  • Director, Facility Planning and Analysis (staff)
