Standard Drafts: An Invitation for Campus Review

The accreditation process is moving along and the entire campus community is invited to engage in the review process.  The initial drafts for each of the nine standards we must address in the accreditation process are being posted on the Accreditation webpage. The drafts must address the specific points raised by the NWCCU standards and be evidence based.  These standards also must accurately represent the tone and context of the University.  To get a greater sense of what may or may not accurately reflect the campus we need input from as wide of range of the campus community as possible.  Thus, please take some time to read these drafts and give us your thoughts.  We are not asking for detailed grammatical or style comments. This is a draft and much of the formatting will come later. For example, we are still working out how documents will be numbered and cited. Thus, there may be some commentary in the draft about documents or a citation may be incomplete. (If you run across something like RD 1.XX that means it is a required document from NWCCU and the number hasn’t been assigned.) We will ultimately get to a common reporting system for tables.  Even the writing style will likely be altered once the nine drafts are merged into a single voice. What we need is a review that focuses on the following:

Again, each of these documents must address the specific components of the standard (these are included) and needs to be “evidence based.” Comments will be collected over the next two months and then considered in a final editing process that will take place in May.  All comments will be saved as a file for the NWCCU cite visit team to access. Final drafts of the standards will be completed in June and then put into a single voice and format.

If you have comments please send them to accred@unr.edu.  Thank you for your consideration.
