Welcome to the University of Nevada, Reno Advising Center! Cain Hall with trees

The Advising Center provides academic advising to all undecided, transfer, disqualified, non-degree, and Bachelors of General Studies students.

In addition to our advising services we teach a First Year Experience (FYE) course called Academic and Career Exploration (ACE 110) offered only in the fall semester. This course is designed to help incoming undecided freshmen transition into the university, identify campus resources, and explore major and career options.

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday; 8am-5pm (We observe all university holidays)

Location: Lower level of Edmund J. Cain Hall, Suite 102 (EJCH 102)

  • NEW UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT ORIENTATION DATES: AUGUST 21-22, 2008
  • NEW TRANSFER UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT ORIENTATION: AUGUST 20, 2008, 6-7PM FOR ACADEMIC SESSIONS
  • FIRST DAY OF CLASSES AUGUST 25, 2008
  • LABOR DAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2008- NO CLASSES
  • FINAL DAY FOR ADDING A CLASS SEPTEMBER 4, 2008
  • FINAL DAY FOR DROPPING INDIVIDUAL CLASSES AND NO REFUND SEPTEMBER 4, 2008
  • FINAL DAY FOR DROPPING CLASSES AND A "W" WILL APPEAR ON TRANSCRIPTS OCTOBER 17, 2008 BY 5PM.
